BIM Lead Data Centre

Location: Blyth, Northumberland, UK
Sector: Data Centres | Mission Critical | Construction | BIM
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 + Accommodation + Rotation + £160 Tax Free Living Allowance per Week
Working Pattern: Site-based / Rotational
Start: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an experienced BIM Lead to join a major data centre project in Blyth, Northumberland. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for BIM delivery across the project, managing a team of BIM Coordinators and Technicians while working closely with the site team, subcontractors, engineers, package managers, and client representatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale mission-critical data centre project offering long-term work, an attractive salary, and a comprehensive rotational package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for BIM delivery across the project.
  • Lead and manage a team of BIM Coordinators and BIM Technicians.
  • Ensure BIM procedures and standards are consistently implemented across the project.
  • Work closely with the site team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure BIM requirements are met.
  • Liaise with package managers and site engineers to coordinate complex MEP installations.
  • Manage and resolve clashes and coordination issues between disciplines.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical models.
  • Produce and review drawings, specifications, and schedules in accordance with the project BIM Execution Plan.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior BIM team members and the wider site team.
  • Monitor BIM deliverables and ensure they are produced in line with project requirements.
  • Support project coordination meetings and design reviews.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of BIM processes and technologies.
  • Contribute to BIM research, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date BIM information is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience working across large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong previous experience in a BIM Team Lead / BIM Manager / Senior BIM Coordinator position.
  • Excellent Revit experience with an MEP bias.
  • Strong understanding of MEP BIM coordination.
  • Experience managing BIM teams.
  • Strong Navisworks experience.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Experience with clash detection and resolution.
  • Experience working on major construction, infrastructure, or data centre projects.
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, BIM, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of BIM processes, standards, and project delivery.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, engineers, designers, and clients.
  • Willingness to work on a rotational basis in Blyth.
