KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced BIM Manager.

Implementing information management and digital strategy across tenders and projects, this role plans and manages the use of digital tools to capture, share and utilise information to enhance project or contract delivery. It is responsible for the effective service delivery of project or contract information management, as well as the tactical deployment of project-based technology. The successful candidate will possess strong information management expertise and proven management and leadership skills, ideally with experience working on other complex JV projects. The individual must also be comfortable operating in a secure environment, demonstrate the appropriate security characteristics, and be able to obtain the necessary security clearance.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK resident for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

As a BIM Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

Management Responsibilities

  • Manages pipeline and workload management to meet customer needs on tenders and projects, coordinating with Digital Engineers, Production, and Support for appropriate resources
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring their business requirements are met with exemplary plans, specifications, reviews, and controls
  • Drive process improvements across Digital community using digital tools
  • Contribute to and engage with wider Digital community for best practice guidance
  • Stay updated on digital advancements and industry developments, championing within BAM
  • Adhere to industry standards, company procedures, and legal requirements, communicating any opportunities or threats internally on the tenders and projects we support
  • Manage and coordinate disciplines and project team for ISO 19650 audits
  • Promote and adhere to health & safety, environmental, and quality standards. Delivering in accordance with company policies and reports non-compliance
  • Support the implementation of the Digital strategy

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the information advisor to tender/project/contract teams, our clients/employers and stakeholder, ensuring ISO19650 standards and delivery plan are achieved
  • Build trusted relationships with wider corporate, commercial, legal, and procurement functions to ensure supply chain compliance with client and corporate requirements – including contribution to the Responsibility Matrix, Master and Task Information Delivery Plans (MIDP & TIDP)
  • Secure function Support and IT resources for digital systems mobilisation and maintenance, ensuring data integrity
  • Lead collaboration with IT and function Support for fit-for-purpose digital systems and methods
  • Instigate and manage collaboration with IT and function Support to ensure that digital systems and working methods are fit for purpose and efficient for the relevant stage of the project/asset lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with ISO19650 standards and procedures and address any non compliance

Communication

  • Prepare and provide reports, analysis and forecasting as required
  • Maintain excellent communication with all stakeholders, providing necessary reports, analysis, and forecasting
  • Work closely with commercial, legal, and procurement teams for supply chain capability assessments and gap analysis regarding compliance to tender and project information requirements

Knowledge Area

  • Knowledge - 4D programme to improve understanding of the construction sequence and support risk reduction
  • Knowledge – 5D Forecasting (Link between programme, model, cost and how to extract information required for the job role)
  • Ability - Apply data validation techniques to construction information
  • Ability - Develop BAM standard Information Management templates to achieve project requirements
  • Ability - Map information flow in terms of inputs, processes and outputs
  • Knowledge - Interface between digital software and technology
  • Ability - Usage of quality documentation e.g., EIR, IM Standards, Responsibility Matrix, Mobilisation Plan, and MIDP to effectively manage, communicate and deliver information requirements
  • Ability - Specify and manage the production of federated 3D models to meet project and role requirements
  • Ability - Project delivery/handover formats (e.g., COBie etc.)

  • Manage the delivery of the Project and/or Asset Information Model, as specified in the Exchange Information Requirements (EIRs) and parent company requirements
  • Lead the development of ISO19650 standards and associated deliverables
  • Working with Digital community support, implement systems for information management, sharing, and storage according to security standards, including archiving and disposal
  • Manage the Common Data Environment(s) and facilitate training and support for its use
  • Demonstrate leadership in a team environment
  • Proven efficiency in time management and achieving goals
  • Good management and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in digital construction/facilities management and information management
  • Established contributor and influencer to prequalification and tender submissions
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO19650 series
  • Educational Background: Higher Education in Construction or related fields (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working on construction projects with a focus on digital solutions
  • Leads by example with company values
