Senior BIM Technician
This is a Senior BIM Technician role for someone who works in the model, not around it. You will sit across the CAD, design and project teams, building and coordinating MEP models in Revit and Navisworks and turning 2D information into accurate, buildable 3D.
About the opportunity
Beyond modelling, you will be active in coordination - running clash detection, joining design reviews, chasing conflicts to closure, and making sure model information is structured, tagged and annotated to the BIM Execution Plan. Knowledge of IT infrastructure in data centre and enterprise environments is a real advantage, as much of the work touches structured cabling.
What you will be doing
- Develop, update and maintain detailed 3D models in Revit and Navisworks
- Translate 2D drawings and technical information into accurate BIM models
- Coordinate model content with other trades and disciplines to achieve an integrated design
- Ensure model elements are correctly tagged, labelled and annotated to project BIM standards
- Carry out clash detection in Navisworks, investigate conflicts and work with design teams on solutions
- Track and close out identified clashes; flag technical concerns early
- Produce and update 2D drawings and layouts in AutoCAD, generated from BIM information
- Provide BIM technical support to the CAD function
- Attend project and coordination meetings and provide technical input
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of technical accuracy

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
