Role Description

The BIM Technician role at McCue Fit Out is a full-time, on-site position based in Carrickfergus. The BIM Technician will develop, manage, and update Building Information Models for joinery and fit-out projects, ensuring accurate representation of architectural, structural, and building services elements.   • Producing and coordinating detailed construction drawings.
  • Collaborating with project managers, designers, engineers, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining model standards and documentation.
  • Supporting clash detection.
  • Contributing to design coordination meetings.
  • Ensuring that BIM outputs meet project and client requirements.

The BIM Technician will work closely with internal stakeholders to improve workflows and support efficient delivery of projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows, with experience creating and managing coordinated 3D models.
  • Ability to interpret and produce detailed Construction Drawings, including layouts, sections, and fabrication details for fit-out and joinery projects.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and Building Services coordination within BIM environments.
  • Understanding of Structural Engineering principles relevant to interior fit-out, joinery, and associated building elements.
  • Experience using industry-standard BIM and CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar).
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple models and drawing outputs to deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary project teams on-site.
  • Relevant technical qualification in construction, architectural technology, engineering, or a related field; prior experience in fit-out or joinery is an advantage.
