The Role: Bioanalyst (Alnwick Site)

We are recruiting a dedicated Bioanalyst to join our Bioanalytical Services team at our onsite Alnwick location. Reporting directly to a Bioanalytical Study Director, this role focuses on delivering high-quality bioanalytical support across preclinical and clinical assays.


Key Responsibilities

Sample Analysis and Validation

  • Conduct ICP-MS and LC-MS bioanalytical assays on samples from preclinical and clinical studies
  • Perform method validation to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity
  • Develop and implement new assay methodologies to support investigational research

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all work adheres to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and client specifications
  • Regularly review and update supporting documentation, including SOPs and data reports
  • Maintain strict quality standards throughout all bioanalytical operations

Collaboration and Problem-Solving

  • Work closely with study teams to resolve technical challenges and optimise study execution
  • Critically analyse data, acting as a key resource for study-related discussions

Skills and Experience Required

Essential

✅ BSc (Hons) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, pharmacy, biochemistry), or equivalent lab experience ✅ Ability to critically assess and interpret scientific data ✅ Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder updates ✅ Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive in tackling new challenges ✅ High level of personal integrity and unwavering attention to quality and compliance

Desirable (Preferred Qualifications)

✔ Previous experience with mass spectrometry (specifically ICP-MS or LC-MS) ✔ Experience within pharmaceutical, contract research organisations (CROs), or regulated laboratory environments ✔ Familiarity with GxP standards, FDA, or EMA guidelines for bioanalytical work
