Bioanalytical Scientist | Global Manufacturing Scientific Development

12 months FTC | Elstree, Herts

Are you ready to take the next step in your scientific career?

Our Global Manufacturing Scientific Development (GMSD) in Elstree, Hertfordshire, is looking for a motivated Bioanalytical Scientist for a 12-months fixed term contract to support projects focused on the optimisation of existing products and the development of new plasma-derived products.

Whether you are a recent Life Science graduate looking to begin your career or a scientist with industry experience, this role offers the opportunity to build practical laboratory expertise, work alongside experienced scientists and contribute to meaningful research and development activities within a biopharmaceutical environment.

You will carry out experimental work using a range of bioanalytical and protein analysis techniques, review and interpret results, maintain accurate records and communicate project progress clearly whilst being supported with training and development as you build competence across the role.

  • Follow written procedures such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and study plans
  • Be trained and become competent to execute a range of analytical methods including: SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Chromogenic Assay, ELISA, use of equipment e.g. pH and conductivity meters, automated analyser
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all experimental work
  • Buffer preparation and record keeping
  • Analyse and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability in your results
  • Troubleshooting experimental procedures and addressing any issues that arise during your tasks
  • Working closely with industry experts and collaborate with various departments, gaining insights into the interdisciplinary nature of biopharmaceutical research
  • Exposure to global operations, as Kedrion is a global company

Skills to help you within the role

  • A relevant degree within a Life Science discipline, including but not limited to Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biosciences, Forensic Science or a related subject
  • Evidence of practical laboratory training and report writing during your degree and/or projects
  • Potential to perform microplate-based analytical techniques
  • Knowledge of protein characterisation and analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of health and safety when working in a laboratory environment
  • Able to use Microsoft Office packages
