BioAnalytical Team Lead (Bioassay Development)

The Role

The Bioassay Development Team Lead will provide scientific and technical knowledge within the Bioassay Development team while remaining actively involved in laboratory-based assay development, qualification, and testing activities. The role combines hands-on execution of bioanalytical assays with responsibility for coordinating team activities, ensuring high-quality data generation, and supporting project delivery for biosimilar and biologics development programs.

  • Perform and oversee laboratory-based bioassay activities for monoclonal antibodies and other therapeutic proteins.
  • Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and execute bioanalytical methods including:
    • Cell-based potency assays
    • Cell proliferation assays
    • ADCC and CDC assays
    • ELISA
    • Functional assays
    • Spectroscopy techniques (plate reader)
    • In Process sample support HCP, LPA, HcDNA
  • Generate, analyse, interpret, and review analytical data in compliance with GLP and company procedures.
  • Support product characterization, comparability assessments, and biosimilar development projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, protocols, and supporting documentation.

The Person

  • Degree / Masters / PhD level qualification in life science, biochemistry, pharmacy, chemistry, biomedical science or other technical scientific discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cell-based assays, ELISA, ADCC, CDC, cell proliferation assays, technologies.
  • Good understanding of therapeutic protein and monoclonal antibody structure-function relationships and critical quality attributes.
  • Experience in biosimilar or biologics development, including assay development, optimization, characterization, and analytical testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous experience leading projects, mentoring scientists, or coordinating laboratory activities is desirable.
