Astute’s Renewables Team is partnered with a leading business within the biogas sector, who build and provide operations and maintenance support to biogas plants throughout the UK. They are looking to recruit a Plant Manager for a site located just East of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Manager role
Reporting To The Operations Manager You Will
- The safe and efficient day to day management of an anaerobic digestion plant
- Managing a team of three Operators as well as specialist contractors on site
- Full HSE management of the facility
- Ensuring that the correct feedstock with the correct composition is being fed into the plant
- Managing site KPIs and adjusting where required
- Looking for ways to optimise the asset and any way to generate more biogas, safely
- Taking responsibility for the site P&L and reporting back to management
- Liaising with and being the primary contact for the regulatory bodies, such as the EA and Ofgem
- Using the SCADA to help diagnose any faults and performing trend analysis where appropriate
- Other duties as required

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as chemical or mechanical is an advantage
- Mobile Plant (telehandler, loading shovel) licence or time served experience
- NEBOSH or willingness to train towards
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
Personal skills
The Plant Manager Role Would Suit Someone Who Is
- Experienced in anaerobic digestion or a similar heavy processing environment at a managerial or supervisory level
- Hands on and leads by example
- Excellent computer literacy
- A mentality towards a continuous improvement and a genuine passion for the industry
- Excellent people management skills
