Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a well-established business who own and operate their own anaerobic digestion plants, which provide both gas and electricity to the grid. Together we are recruiting an Operator for their site in Worcestershire.
Job Overview
The strategically important Operator role comes with a salary of up to £34,000, discretionary bonus (after 1 year of service), and an additional benefits package.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will:
- Carry out day-to-day operations of the renewable energy process plant
- Use SCADA control systems to monitor the process (training provided)
- Carry out general maintenance tasks such as changing and isolating a pump, greasing, oil, and filter changes
- Support the biologist with carrying out analysis checks (training provided)
- Feed fuel into the process using mobile plant such as telehandlers
- Respond to machine and systems failures
- Ensure adherence with health & safety at all times
- Work on a day shift rotation
- Undertake other duties as required

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A relevant Engineering qualification/certificate would be an advantage but not essential
- Telehandler or other plant tickets such as loading shovel, tractor, etc., but not essential
- A full UK Driving Licence (essential)
Personal Skills
The Biogas Plant Operator role would suit someone who is:
- Experienced working in a similar outdoor environment
- First line maintenance experience
- Experienced with SCADA is an advantage
- A good understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Has a genuine interest in working in the renewable energy sector
- Has a good work ethic and has a desire to work as part of a supportive team
