Job brief

We are looking for a committed part-time Biology Teacher to complement our qualified workforce of educators. You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.

The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning as an easy and meaningful process.

The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
  • Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
  • Collaborate with Senior teachers, Administrators and other stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
  • Plan and execute educational in-class events
  • Observe and understand students’ behaviour and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
  • Maintain teaching and learning documentation

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a teacher (Essential)
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures (Essential)
  • Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Well-organized and committed (Essential)
  • Creative and energetic (Essential)
  • Degree in your chosen field of study (Essential)
  • Formal training as a teacher (AET, DET, PGCE) (Desirable)
  • Membership at the society for education and training (Desirable)
  • QTLS, QTS, ATS or Chartered Teacher Status (Desirable)

Employment Details

  • Salary: (to be pro rata if part-time): £40.00-£45.00 per hour (inclusive of annual holiday entitlement/pay)
  • Dependent on experience, qualification and subject level delivered.
  • Auto-Enrolment Pension Scheme: Royal London Workplace Pension Scheme (4% employer contribution and a 4% employee contribution)
  • Start Date: 07th September 2026
  • End Date: 26th June 2027
  • Number of hours to be worked per week: up to 10 hours
  • Contract type: Fixed Term, Term Time Only
  • Probation: 3 Months
  • Annual Leave Entitlement: Term Time Only
  • Benefit: Use of the staff gym, Access to industry leading CPD.
