Role Description
The Biomedical Engineer Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ireland, responsible for overseeing the lifecycle and performance of medical equipment across hospital facilities. This role includes:
- Coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance
- Managing equipment inventory and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards

The Biomedical Engineer Administrator will:

- Collaborate with clinical teams to understand technical requirements
- Support equipment selection and installation
- Provide guidance on optimal usage and troubleshooting
Additionally, the role involves:
- Working with vendors and service providers
- Monitoring service contracts
- Analyzing equipment performance data
- Recommending upgrades or replacements to improve reliability and efficiency
The successful candidate will contribute to policies and procedures that enhance clinical engineering operations and support hospital objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong biomedical and clinical engineering skills, including experience with Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Expertise in medical equipment handling, including knowledge of Medical Equipment specifications, safety standards, and integration into clinical workflows.
- Maintenance-focused skills, including Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance planning, execution, and documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and regulations, and apply best practices for equipment reliability, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in hospital or healthcare technology management, with familiarity of Irish or EU healthcare regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clinical staff, management, and external vendors.
