The Opportunity
As a Biomedical Scientist at Voy Labs, you will serve as a core technical specialist at the heart of our diagnostic operations. You aren’t just running assays; you are ensuring the scientific precision, reliability, and continuous innovation of the diagnostic pipeline that powers Voy’s health decisions.
In this role, you will take direct ownership of analysing, validating, and interpreting complex clinical specimens across haematology and biochemistry. Working with cutting-edge analytical systems, you will combine rigorous scientific standards with operational excellence—helping to expand our testing catalog, maintain uncompromising quality controls, and shape the future of modern digital health diagnostics.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical expertise and hands-on input in setting up, verifying, and validating new laboratory tests across haematology and biochemistry
- Process and analyse patient samples in strict alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring maximum accuracy, precision, and efficiency
- Interpret and validate analytical results, proactively identifying and resolving scientific anomalies or diagnostic discrepancies
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot highly sophisticated laboratory analysers, performing daily quality control (QC) checks and escalating technical issues promptly
- Actively participate in External Quality Assessment (EQA) schemes to ensure the highest international standards of analytical performance
- Contribute directly to the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS), taking part in audits, incident reporting, and continuous process improvements
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of all analytical work, validation protocols, and quality control data within the LIMS
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clinicians, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders to provide accurate technical advice and guidance
- Mentor, train, and supervise less experienced laboratory staff and technicians to raise operational standards across the team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
