The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SYB) Pathology Network is a fully integrated network providing pathology services across five regional sites:
- Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTHFT)
- The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRHFT)
- Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT)
- Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (STHFT)
- Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT)

The Role
The post holder will act as an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist providing scientific services to patients as an aid to clinical diagnosis. The successful candidate will be required and undertake a wide range of complex analytical procedures, performing a range of manual, semi-automated and automated tests using scientific knowledge and experience to comment upon and validate results in line with ISO 15189.
Requirements
- Haematology experience
- Nearing completion of their registration portfolio
- Ideally, experience of working out of hours
Banding
This vacancy is banded dependent upon applicants' experience relevant to this post. The banding of the successful applicant will start at Band 5 unless applicants meet the necessary threshold of skills and experience required to start on Band 6.
