Bioresources Technician – Water Recycling

Salary: Starting at £36,920 + 15% shift allowance

Location: Cambridge

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Shift based: 12 hour working day, working every other weekend, 7 days worked over 14 on a week rota basis.

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations

Our Water Recycling team plays a vital role in protecting the environment and public health. Through our highly skilled in‑house workforce, we collect and treat wastewater before safely returning it to rivers and coastal outlets.

Our extensive network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers and over 1,000 water recycling centres, making what we do critical to everyday life.

Your Role

As a Bioresources Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring Water Recycling treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained so they operate effectively, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards such as Health & Safety, HACCP, and environmental compliance.

You’ll work hands-on across our sites, supporting safe operations, maintaining critical equipment, and helping to keep our assets performing at their best.

Key Duties

  • Implementing and tracking actions from Compliance Action Plans
  • Investigating problems and promoting corrective actions within your level of competence
  • Carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and supporting condition-based asset monitoring
  • Monitoring contractor performance while remedial work is carried out on wastewater assets
  • Inspecting safety-critical equipment including legionella testing, gas, electricity, and emergency lighting
  • Maintaining clear communication across the site team regarding operations and activities
  • Producing accurate reports on asset condition and site compliance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
