Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities and site operations.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and site operatives to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Allocate work and monitor productivity across the site.
  • Ensure construction work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and identify defects or issues requiring corrective action.
  • Ensure all works comply with site health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and report progress to site management.
  • Coordinate deliveries, materials, plant, and equipment as required.
  • Liaise with engineers, site managers, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, resources, and potential issues.
  • Identify programme delays and assist with implementing solutions.
  • Ensure site operatives follow RAMS, permits, and other relevant procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, labour, progress, and site issues.
  • Support the Site Manager in achieving project targets, deadlines, and quality standards.

Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience in a construction supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and site operations.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Relevant construction qualifications, such as SSSTS/SMSTS, are desirable.
  • CSCS certification appropriate to the role is desirable/required depending on the project.
