Blockchain / DLT Developer
London - Hybrid / Remote
Permanent
£90,000 - £110,000
We are looking for an experienced Blockchain / DLT Developer to join a growing technology team delivering innovative blockchain solutions within the financial services sector.
You will design, build and deploy distributed ledger and smart contract solutions, working across Ethereum, Hedera, Algorand and a proprietary enterprise blockchain platform. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, product managers and client stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and high-performance decentralised applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy smart contracts and decentralised applications across Ethereum, Hedera, Algorand and proprietary blockchain infrastructure.
- Develop blockchain solutions tailored to financial services and capital markets clients.
- Contribute to the enhancement of a proprietary enterprise blockchain platform, including protocol improvements and tooling.
- Integrate blockchain components with backend services, APIs and wider platform infrastructure.
- Conduct smart contract testing, auditing and optimisation, focusing on security, performance and gas efficiency.
- Stay current with developments across Ethereum/EVM, Layer 2s, Hedera, Algorand and the wider DLT ecosystem.
- Provide technical guidance to junior developers and contribute to engineering best practice.
- Work with product, project and business teams to understand requirements and support delivery.

About You
- Hands-on experience working with security tokens on distributed ledgers.
- Proven experience developing and deploying Ethereum smart contracts using Solidity.
- Experience with Hedera (Solidity/Hedera Token Service) or Algorand (PyTEAL/TEAL/ARC standards).
- Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including consensus, cryptography, tokenisation and DLT architectures.
- Experience with Web3 libraries such as Web3.js or Ethers.js, or equivalent DLT SDKs.
- Proficiency in Node.js, Python, Go or Java, with experience working with RESTful or event-driven APIs.
- Familiarity with Hardhat, Foundry, Truffle or equivalent blockchain development tools.
- Strong Git and collaborative development experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Desirable
- Experience with proprietary enterprise blockchain platforms.
- Knowledge of Layer 2s such as Polygon, Arbitrum or Optimism and cross-chain interoperability.
- Familiarity with ERC-20, ERC-1400 and ERC-3643 and/or DeFi protocols.
- Experience in financial services, capital markets or fintech.
- Understanding of blockchain regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
