  • Preparing ground surfaces
  • Laying block paving for driveways, patios, and walkways
  • Ensuring levels, alignment, and finishes meet company standards
  • Operating hand tools and light machinery
  • Mixing and spreading sand or other base materials
  • Assisting with site setup and cleanup

The Blockpaver will work as part of a small team, follow health and safety guidelines, and interact professionally with clients and colleagues. Some lifting, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and travel to different local job sites should be expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in block paving, landscaping, or general groundworks, with the ability to prepare bases and lay blocks accurately.
  • Practical skills using hand tools and light machinery, such as compactors, cutters, and mixers.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices, including safe manual handling and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to read basic drawings or instructions, measure and mark out work areas, and maintain high-quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in different weather conditions and to travel to local sites in and around Havant.
  • Previous experience in paving or construction and a valid driver’s license are beneficial but not strictly required.
