About the Role
We're looking for a friendly, energetic Barista to join our team at Bloom Café. You'll be passionate about coffee, great customer service, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every customer.
As part of this role you will;
- Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude
- Take customer orders and prepare coffee and espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos
- Serve baked goods, snacks, and other menu items as requested by customers
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including coffee machines, countertops, and the café area
- Ensure the proper handling of cash and credit transactions, and provide accurate change when necessary
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure high-quality service
- Assist in restocking and organising inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, making recommendations, and resolving concerns in a professional manner
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies

The following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, or food service environment is a plus but not required
- Passion for coffee and customer service
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change
- Ability to work as part of a team and support a positive work environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
