About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, energetic Barista to join our team at Bloom Café. You'll be passionate about coffee, great customer service, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every customer.

As part of this role you will;

  • Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude
  • Take customer orders and prepare coffee and espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos
  • Serve baked goods, snacks, and other menu items as requested by customers
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including coffee machines, countertops, and the café area
  • Ensure the proper handling of cash and credit transactions, and provide accurate change when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure high-quality service
  • Assist in restocking and organising inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, making recommendations, and resolving concerns in a professional manner
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies

The following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, or food service environment is a plus but not required
  • Passion for coffee and customer service
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support a positive work environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
