Are you confident with BMS platforms such as Tridium (Niagara), Schneider, and Trend?
Then come and join us! We're looking for a BMS Lead Commissioning Engineer to join Crown House Technologies – Enterprise Solutions, part of Laing O'Rourke's specialist MEP services business, delivering some of the most technically advanced construction projects in the UK.
You'll be supported with the training, development, and long-term career progression needed to grow your career, while playing a key role in projects that push the boundaries of building performance, system integration, and smart technology.
What is the role?
We are currently delivering the full MEP scope for the Ellison Institute of Technology's Oxford Campus, a landmark life sciences development bringing together cutting-edge research laboratories, a wellness clinic, and collaborative spaces dedicated to solving global health challenges.
This highly complex project requires a fully integrated BEMS solution, supporting laboratory environments, smart technologies, energy monitoring, and seamless coordination across mechanical, electrical, and specialist systems.
We are seeking an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to join our project delivery team. Reporting to the BMS Project Manager, you will play a key role in the commissioning of a fully integrated BEMS solution.
This role would suit a technically strong engineer who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure project environment and can take ownership of software, graphics, and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of the BEMS scope as part of the project team
- Understand and manage the BMS scope and its interface with M&E systems
- Produce and review key design documentation (FDS, points schedules, interface matrices)
- Oversee and contribute to BEMS software and graphics development
- Support and manage commissioning and point-to-point testing
- Coordinate BEMS integration with mechanical, electrical, and specialist systems
- Support project handover, ensuring a fully operational BEMS system

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (including full electrical apprenticeship or equivalent)
- Proven track record of delivering BEMS/BMS systems
- Exceptional technical knowledge of BEMS
- Experience working with BACnet and/or Modbus
- Strong ability to develop, adapt, and troubleshoot BMS software and graphics
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Valid CSCS or ECS site card
