We’re growing our team at Knight Controls
With a strong pipeline of work across London, Essex and the South East, we’re always interested in speaking with good BMS engineers looking for their next move.
We’re currently looking for:
BMS Service Engineer
Working across planned maintenance, reactive callouts, fault finding and remedial works, with opportunities to get involved in project and commissioning work as well.
Experience with systems such as Trend, Tridium Niagara and Siemens would be useful, along with a good understanding of HVAC, BACnet, Modbus and building controls.
BMS Project Engineer
Working across new installations, upgrades, controller replacements, integration, graphics and commissioning.
There will also be some crossover with service works, so we’re looking for someone comfortable working across different sites and systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Energy Management / EMS
Energy Management is already a key part of what we do at Knight Controls, and we’re interested in speaking with people who could help strengthen that side of the business as our workload continues to grow.
Our EMS work includes bringing building and metering data into platforms such as Optergy, energy monitoring, tenant billing, reporting, identifying unusual consumption and helping clients get more value from the data within their buildings.
Previous experience with Optergy would be a big advantage, but we’re also interested in people from BMS, EMS, metering or building energy backgrounds who have strong IT and analytical skills and can adapt to the systems we use.
