An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced BMS Service Engineer

to join a well-established building controls and automation business, working across a range of commercial and critical infrastructure sites throughout London.

The role will suit a BMS engineer with strong hands-on experience of Schneider Electric BMS platforms, who enjoys a mixture of service, fault finding, maintenance and customer-facing engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring BMS and control systems remain operational, reliable and optimised, working directly with clients and site teams to diagnose issues and deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work on BMS systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve BMS, controls and HVAC-related faults.
  • Work extensively with Schneider Electric BMS systems.
  • Modify and update BMS software, graphics, alarms, schedules and control strategies.
  • Carry out system upgrades, remedial works and small project modifications.
  • Investigate communication and networking issues across BMS systems.
  • Work with HVAC plant including AHUs, FCUs, boilers, chillers, pumps and associated controls.
  • Carry out BMS commissioning and testing where required.
  • Liaise directly with customers, facilities teams, contractors and other engineers.
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients on BMS operation and performance.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance documentation and system records.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, upgrades and remedial works.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required technical standards.

Technical Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have experience with:

  • Schneider Electric BMS
  • EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO)
  • Schneider SmartStruxure / StruxureWare
  • Schneider controllers and field devices
  • BMS graphics and workstation software
  • HVAC control systems
  • BACnet / BACnet IP
  • Modbus / Modbus TCP
  • BMS networking and IP-based systems
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Commissioning and testing

Experience with other BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Honeywell or Distech would also be advantageous.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, customer-focused and comfortable working independently on client sites. You should have:

  • Previous experience working as a BMS Service Engineer, BMS Engineer, Controls Engineer or similar.
  • Strong Schneider BMS experience.
  • Good understanding of HVAC and building services.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • The ability to read and understand control schematics.
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills.
  • A professional approach and ability to manage your own workload.
