About The Role
For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.
Sytner BMW & MINI is looking for an ambitious, energetic, and results-driven Business Development Manager to help grow our business by identifying, developing, and securing new corporate customers.
This is a proactive sales role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships. If you're motivated by hunting for new business rather than waiting for enquiries, this is the opportunity for you.
As our Business Development Manager, your primary focus will be winning new business. You'll be responsible for expanding our customer base by engaging with local businesses, identifying fleet and company car opportunities, and promoting the premium BMW and MINI brands.
Success in this role comes from your ability to network, prospect, build trust, and create opportunities where others don't.
What You'll Be Doing
- Proactively identify and target new business opportunities across the UK.
- Generate your own pipeline through networking, cold outreach, referrals, social selling, and face-to-face meetings.
- Build relationships with business owners, directors, and key decision-makers.
- Convert prospects into long-term BMW and MINI business customers.
- Represent Sytner BMW & MINI within the local business community, attending networking events and building brand awareness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience from first contact through to vehicle delivery.
- Consistently achieve and exceed new business, sales, and profitability targets.
- Maintain an active pipeline and accurate CRM records.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
