What difference will you make?
By helping our Board of Trustees run smoothly, you'll help us achieve more - including using our research findings to reduce health inequalities and avoid health here in the UK being such a postcode lottery.
What are we looking for?
We'd like to hear from you, if you have
- At least five years professional UK experience in a relevant administrative role or roles.
- Experience of organising and servicing in-person, hybrid and virtual meetings.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to draft accurate and succinct minutes and emails.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability and desire to learn to use new software.
- Strong time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven capability in managing sensitive, confidential information.
- The ability to apply skills and knowledge to run efficient governance processes and to take initiative to identify and address areas that can be improved.
- Commitment to our guiding principle that prevention is better than cure.

What will you be doing?
Meetings of the Board of Trustees
- Check the most convenient dates for Trustee meetings, and advise Trustees once the Chair has agreed a date.
- Liaise with the Chair to prepare and then distribute the agenda and papers a week in advance.
- Attend 3- 4 virtual Board meetings a year, record attendance, and take minutes, identifying any action agreed and who it is agreed will take the action.
- Distribute approved minutes to all Trustees within 2 weeks of the Board meeting.
- Maintain a record of terms of office, and advise the Chair when Trustees are eligible for re-appointment and when they are coming to the end of their final term of office.
- Help make arrangements for the recruitment of new Trustees.
- Ensure all new Trustees receive appropriate letters of appointment and induction material.
- Maintain confidentiality.

Board Policies
- Track and monitor the review cycles of organizational policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate and monitor policies and procedures reviews and maintain the policies register.
- Ensure that information on Trustees is kept in line with GDPR requirements.
