Board Member – EMI Licensing & Capital Raising
Location: Remote
Duration: Initial term of one year, with potential for renewal
Compensation: Equity-based
Overview
Tikelt, an innovative mobile payments app transforming digital transactions, is seeking a highly experienced and connected professional to join our board of directors. As a board member, you will play a pivotal role in securing our Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license through established provider partnerships and driving our fundraising strategy to fuel growth. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of a company dedicated to revolutionizing peer-to-peer payments and empowering consumers and small businesses. Compensation for this role will be equity-based.
Responsibilities
- EMI Licensing: Leverage your network and expertise to identify, engage, and secure partnerships with EMI license providers or facilitate direct licensing through relevant regulatory channels.
- Fundraising Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and oversight on capital-raising initiatives to secure investment and support growth objectives.
- Network Activation: Utilize your professional connections to introduce Tikelt to potential investors, EMI providers, banking partners, and funding opportunities.
- Regulatory & Compliance Advisory: Offer guidance on navigating financial regulations, compliance requirements, and relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Financial Strategy: Advise on financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with company goals and licensing milestones.
- Governance: Participate in quarterly board meetings and additional strategy sessions as needed.
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and refine business strategies, ensuring effective implementation of licensing and growth plans.
- Investor Relations: Assist in preparing pitch materials, investor presentations, and due diligence documentation required for fundraising efforts.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including financial institutions, EMI providers, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
- Mission Advocacy: Uphold and promote Tikelt's mission, values, and commitment to transforming digital payments.

Qualifications
- Proven track record of securing EMI licenses or establishing partnerships with licensed financial institutions, preferably within fintech or payments.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, investment, or financial strategy within the fintech, payments, or startup sectors.
- Strong network of contacts within the investment community (VCs, angel investors, institutional investors) and among EMI providers or banking partners.
- Deep understanding of financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and licensing processes in the payments industry.
- Excellent financial planning, analysis, and budgeting capabilities.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Passion for innovation in digital payments and commitment to supporting Tikelt's growth.
- Prior board or advisory experience in fintech or regulated financial services is highly desirable.
