London

Local Space is helping to solve the homelessness crisis in London and the South East by delivering high-quality settled homes that build foundations for successful lives. Our origins lie in the London Borough of Newham, but today we operate across 19 local authority areas across London and Essex, acquiring, refurbishing and repurposing properties that can become high-quality homes for our customers.

As we celebrate our 20th birthday in 2026, we are looking to the future with confidence. Our recent regulatory inspection confirmed our G1 governance, V1 financial viability and C2 consumer ratings, providing strong foundations for our ambition to deliver 20% more homes by 2030.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We now have two opportunities for people who believe in the power of good quality social housing to join our Board and work with other Board members to ensure good governance and regulatory compliance; to play a part in setting our strategy for the future; and ensure that we live up to the promises that we make.

Role Description

For one of these roles, we are particularly interested in hearing from people with senior level professional finance experience, as well as an accounting qualification.

For the second role, you could come from a range of professional backgrounds including: customer service; risk management; IT / digital; HR; governance / law; asset management / maintenance; or development / procurement.

Any direct experience of social housing would be of interest for either role, but this isn’t an essential requirement. The ability to work well as part of a team, putting forward ideas and perspectives while valuing the views of others will be an important skill. An analytical mindset will be valuable in enabling you to offer constructive challenge to the senior team and decision-making. And you should be a passionate advocate for our customers and putting their voice at the centre of what we do.
