About Us

Since 2006 Recyke y‘bike has had great success in using cycles to develop the capacities and skills of socially disadvantaged communities of the north-east. We have been able to educate all ages in the safe use and reuse of bicycles, provide low-cost refurbished bicycles, and encourage cycling to enhance health and wellbeing. By helping to reduce the reliance on motor transport and preventing huge numbers of bicycles going to landfill we have been able to make big environmental gains as well. It has been a win-win-win for twenty years and as the largest cycle charity in the region, we are immensely proud of the impact that we have been able to deliver thus far.

To help support the continued growth and development of Recyke y’bike we are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.

What does the role involve?

As Treasurer you will be responsible for overseeing the charity’s finances to make sure we comply with our regulatory and legal responsibilities including:

  • Monitoring and reporting on our financial health at regular Board meetings.
  • Chairing our Finance Sub-Group.
  • Overseeing the preparation of our annual report and engaging with professional advisors such as external auditors.
  • Ensuring we comply with charity accounting practices.
  • Overseeing the annual budget and charity accounts.
  • Leading in the development and implementation of finance policies, such as reserves, cash handling, and systems of internal control.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
