Trustee Opportunity – Charitable Organisation Supporting Adults with Disabilities
We are working with a leading charitable organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives and actively participate in their communities, through person-centred supported living and community support services.
We are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join the Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction, governance, and impact of the organisation. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in HR, commissioning, or transformation, who can bring fresh perspective and expertise to the Board.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend quarterly Board meetings, contributing to discussions and decisions on governance, strategy and performance
- Conduct annual visits to services, meeting service users and staff and feeding back to the Board
- Contribute to periodic engagement sessions, sharing insight and expertise on key issues facing the organisation
- Support the Board in reviewing policies, financial reports and strategic plans, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Engage with service users, staff, donors and partners, representing their interests in Board discussions
- Serve on Board committees or working groups as needed – for example finance, fundraising or quality assurance

Qualifications and Experience
- A genuine commitment to the organisation's mission and the empowerment of individuals with disabilities
- A background in HR, commissioning, or transformation is desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team
- Availability for quarterly Board meetings, annual service visits and periodic engagement sessions (approx. 4–6 hours per month)
- Experience in governance, finance, fundraising, social care or disability rights advocacy is desirable but not essential
