Company Description

Black Unity Bike Ride is a community-focused organisation that promotes physical activity, wellbeing and unity through cycling events and related initiatives. Based in London and Manchester, the charity aims to create inclusive spaces that celebrate Black culture, foster social connection and encourage active lifestyles. It works collaboratively with local partners, volunteers, and participants to deliver safe, well-organised rides and community programs. The organisation values equity, representation, and empowerment, and seeks trustees who are committed to advancing these principles. Joining the board offers an opportunity to shape strategy, strengthen governance, and support the long-term sustainability of its mission.

Role Description

The Board Trustee role is voluntary, focused on providing strategic leadership and robust governance for Black Unity Bike Ride. Trustees participate in quarterly board meetings, review organisational performance, and contribute to long-term planning, risk management and policy development. The role involves overseeing financial health, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and supporting fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement efforts. Trustees will collaborate with fellow board members and senior team members to review and approve budgets, evaluate projects and champion diversity, inclusion, and ethical practices. Role activities include preparing for and attending meetings, engaging with stakeholders, offering support to staff and representing the charity at key events and public forums.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
