Role: Board Trustee
Location: Remote with occasional requirements to travel to our services across Wales for in-person meetings.
Hours: You will attend board meetings every other month and committee meetings in addition to this (four meetings per year for each committee you are on).
Salary: This is an unpaid position; reasonable expenses will be paid.

Contract: 3 year term of office with an option for a 1 year extension at the discretion of the Board.
Interviews: Following an initial discussion, interviews are expected to take place in-person on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 November at a venue to be confirmed.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Board Trustee you’ll review and monitor the strategic direction and goals of Cartrefi and ensure the organisation adheres to its mission, vision and values.
- Oversee and support the CEO and leadership team in implementing strategic initiatives.
- Scrutinise and approve our business plan and annual budget and approve key policies.
- Take decisions on matters reserved for the Board and ensure the highest level of governance and due diligence.
- Consider opportunities for consultation where possible.
- Attend board meetings, away-days and co-operative meetings.
- Sit on committees, taking a special interest in the relevant area and contribute to projects at the request of the Executive.

Who We Are Looking For
To enrich our Board, we’re looking for people with a background in one of the following; Accountancy, Law, Human Resources or Learning and Development. We’re also keen to hear from you if you have lived experience with learning difficulties or autism.
- Think strategically, have strong analytical skills and an awareness of the political, social and economic impacts on the people we support.
- Be an excellent communicator and team-player who can adapt your style to the situation and someone who welcomes constructive feedback.
