Bodyshop Team Leader

Sandy, Bedfordshire

Up to £50,000 Basic Salary + Excellent Benefits | Monday to Friday | No Weekend Working

Pybus Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a successful and rapidly growing independent automotive business in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

Following significant investment in a brand-new, state-of-the-art bodyshop facility, our client is seeking an experienced Bodyshop Team Leader to oversee daily operations, lead an established team and play a key role in the future growth of the department.

This opportunity would suit a highly skilled, multi-disciplined Bodyshop Technician/VDA who is ready to take the next step into a leadership position while remaining hands-on within the workshop.

The Opportunity

As Bodyshop Team Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bodyshop, ensuring repairs are completed to the highest standards while maintaining workflow efficiency and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Working alongside an existing team, you will lead from the front, supporting colleagues and helping to develop the department as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily workflow of the bodyshop operation.
  • Oversee the complete repair process from estimation through to vehicle handover.
  • Carry out high-quality repairs and refinishing work when required.
  • Remain hands-on across:
    • Preparation
    • Painting
    • Panel Repairs
    • MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim)
    • Polishing and Finishing
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of workmanship and quality.
  • Support, mentor and develop team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the bodyshop department.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Bodyshop Technician.
  • Proven experience across Prep, Paint, Panel, MET and Polishing disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience would be advantageous.
  • Ambitious and motivated with a desire to help grow a successful operation.
  • Own tools required.
  • Full UK Driving Licence essential.
