Minor Details Royston Ltd is committed to raising the standard of vehicle repair in the region and providing reliable, professional service to customers.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Bodyshop Technician role based in Royston. The Bodyshop Technician will carry out cosmetic and structural repairs on vehicles, including panel work, dent removal, sanding, filling and preparing surfaces for paint. Responsibilities include performing paintwork repairs and refinishing, blending and color matching, and ensuring a high-quality finish on all jobs. The role involves using modern bodyshop tools and equipment, following safety procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. The Bodyshop Technician will also assist with damage assessments, work to agreed timescales, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in vehicle body repair, including panel beating, dent removal, and cosmetic repair techniques.
  • Experience with paint preparation, spraying, color matching, and refinishing processes.
  • Ability to use bodyshop tools, equipment, and materials safely and effectively, with good attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle repair methods, job estimating, and working to manufacturer or industry guidelines.
  • Good problem-solving skills, time management, and the ability to work efficiently on multiple vehicles or tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and, when required, customers.
  • Commitment to health and safety practices, including the correct use of PPE and adherence to workshop procedures.
  • Previous experience in a bodyshop or vehicle repair environment; relevant vocational training or certification is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to move vehicles safely within the workshop and premises.
