Are you a customs and excise expert with strong HMRC knowledge? Do you thrive on ensuring compliance while driving operational efficiency? Ready to take ownership of bonded operations in a dynamic logistics environment?
Here at GXO, we’re looking for a knowledgeable and driven Compliance Manager to join our multi-user site in Rotherham. Acting as the site’s subject matter expert, you’ll be responsible for all customs and excise activities, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations while supporting operational excellence across bonded goods movement.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll influence processes, develop teams, and maintain the highest standards of compliance, accuracy, and control.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £42,000 per annum depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Oversee customs and excise compliance, ensuring adherence to HMRC regulations and approvals
- Manage bonded goods processes including goods-in, stock management, and dispatch
- Lead, coach, and develop the bond team, driving performance and capability
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of excise declarations and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement of SOPs, compliance processes, and operational standards
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- In-depth knowledge of HMRC excise legislation and customs procedures
- Proven experience working in a duty-suspended/bonded environment
- Strong analytical and Excel skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
