About the Role
I have recently completed writing a book based on my extraordinary and transformative 24-year journey through the international circus and performing arts world — from my early experiences and the major events in my life that ultimately led me to “run away with the circus”, to becoming a performer, coach, producer and director, and eventually the Founder and CEO of the Circus Cruise Center and Agency in London. Drawing on experiences from across an intensive and global career, the book explores the people, challenges, adventures, opportunities and defining moments that shaped both my professional and personal journey. It also follows the profound transformation that came after retiring from the circus sector, as I began searching for a new sense of purpose and moved towards nature-led, eco-conscious and regenerative living. That journey ultimately inspired the creation of NestAway (nestaway.org) — a new venture bringing together nature, sustainability, conscious communities, meaningful experiences and people seeking a different way of living. At its heart, this is a story about courage, reinvention, following an unconventional path and discovering that sometimes the end of one extraordinary chapter is simply the beginning of another.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the Opportunity
I’m now looking for an emerging book editor / story development partner to work with me on taking the manuscript to the next level.
I’m not simply looking for someone to proofread it. I’m looking for a creative person who can help with the structure, storytelling, flow, character development, editing and overall narrative, while working closely with me to bring the strongest version of the book to life.

I’m particularly interested in working with someone who is at an early stage of their editorial/writing career, perhaps a recent Creative Writing, English, Publishing or Journalism graduate, who would like the opportunity to work on a substantial book project and build their portfolio.
About the Project
The project would initially be equity-based rather than salaried, with the opportunity to become more involved as the project develops.
I’m based in Sheffield, and ideally I’d love to meet in person occasionally, although the work can be done remotely.
Next Steps
If this sounds potentially interesting to you, I’d be very happy to tell you more about the book, the project and what I’m looking for.
Best wishes,
Yam
