Job Overview

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

To work in a highly pressurised environment to facilitate the delivery of a professional, efficient, and effective administration service, liaising with a number of clinical staff and MDT teams on a regular basis.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Use of local patient administration systems to manage all referrals, waiting lists, and appointments for all patients in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Primary Care Opticians ensuring patients are referred to them in a timely manner and collate information received after the patient has had an appointment and update clinical systems.
  • Support the Secretarial teams in all areas.
  • Use epro to transcribe and create letters, filing, updating excel spreadsheets, collating data, and inputting data onto the WPAS system.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries in a professional, timely manner.
  • Liaise with clinical staff on a regular basis.

  • GCSE Maths and English

Desirable Criteria

  • Good computer skills

  • Ability to speak Welsh to Minimum Welsh Level 3 required

Desirable Criteria

  • RSA Typing Grade 1 and above

  • Experience within a busy office/ call centre environment dealing with members of the public and hospital staff.
