Role Description

The Booking Clerk is a full-time, hybrid role based in Cwmbrân, with some flexibility to work from home. The role involves handling incoming booking requests by phone and email, confirming journey details, and accurately entering data into booking and scheduling systems. Day-to-day tasks include managing booking amendments and cancellations, coordinating with drivers and operations staff, and ensuring that all transport arrangements meet service and safety requirements. The Booking Clerk will respond to customer inquiries, provide clear information about services, and resolve issues promptly and professionally. This role also requires maintaining orderly records, preparing basic reports when needed, and supporting general office administration to keep operations running smoothly.

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Communication and Customer Service abilities to interact effectively with passengers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Professional Phone Etiquette to handle calls courteously, manage inquiries, and provide clear, accurate information.
  • Solid Clerical Skills, such as data entry, record keeping, and basic administrative tasks, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology is beneficial, especially for bookings related to healthcare transport or medical appointments.
  • Comfort using computer systems and booking software, including email, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work reliably in both office and home environments.
  • Previous experience in transport, call center, healthcare, or administrative roles is an advantage.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in written and spoken English suitable for clear documentation and communication.
