Premium Linguistic Services (PLS) is an established UK provider of professional interpreting and translation services. Since 2005, we have supported organisations across the NHS, government, public sector, legal services and private sector.

Our nationwide network of qualified interpreters and translators enables us to provide language services across hundreds of languages and dialects, including urgent and last-minute assignments.

We are growing our Birmingham team and are looking for a professional, organised and customer-focused Booking Coordinator / Customer Service Adviser to join us.

πŸ’Ό About the Role

As a Booking Coordinator / Customer Service Adviser, you will be responsible for coordinating interpreting and translation assignments while providing an excellent level of service to our clients and freelance linguists.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Taking incoming calls and responding to emails.
  • Managing interpreting and translation bookings from start to finish.
  • Finding and allocating suitable interpreters and translators.
  • Liaising with clients and linguists to confirm assignments.
  • Managing urgent and last-minute requests efficiently.
  • Updating booking systems and internal records accurately.
  • Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally.
  • Prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and freelance linguists.
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative and customer service duties.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, confident, organised and passionate about providing excellent customer service.

You should have:

  • At least 1 year's experience in customer service, administration, coordination, scheduling, contact centre or a similar role.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • A confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage several tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Good computer skills and confidence using email, databases and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with urgent or challenging situations.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.

  • Interpreting or translation services
  • NHS or healthcare
  • Legal services
  • Local or central government
