About the Role
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper who likes being in charge of the purchase ledger and keeping everything paid, reconciled and in order? This is a hands-on role in a friendly, long-established business where your work will make a real difference.
About the Company
Our client is a successful, well established vehicle rental business who are known for outstanding customer service and a supportive, close-knit team, and they now want to bring a capable Bookkeeper into their accounts function.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full purchase ledger, including processing, coding and posting supplier invoices
- Preparing and running weekly supplier payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries and discrepancies
- Carrying out daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintaining the sales ledger and posting customer receipts
- Supporting month-end, VAT returns and year-end with the external accountants
- Keeping financial records accurate and well-organised

What You'll Need
- Proven bookkeeping experience, with strong purchase ledger and supplier payments knowledge
- Good experience with Xero
- Confidence with bank reconciliations and month-end processes
- A working knowledge of VAT
- Excellent accuracy and organisation, and a clear, professional communication style
- AAT, or experience in vehicle rental, leasing or the motor trade, would be a bonus

What's on Offer
- Salary up to £36,000, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, with no weekends
