TPF Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded, multisited firm of chartered accountants in its search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Melksham office.
This is a straightforward and varied bookkeeping position, working with a portfolio of owner managed businesses across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and providing a reliable, high quality service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Completing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
- Processing bank transactions and completing reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Producing management information where required
- Working with cloud accounting software
- Resolving bookkeeping queries with clients
- Ensuring records are complete, accurate and kept up to date
- Liaising with the accounts team and other colleagues across the firm

Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
- Possess a good understanding of VAT and bookkeeping principles
- Be familiar with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Communicate confidently and professionally with clients
- Be AAT qualified, studying towards AAT or qualified by experience

- Salary: £30,000 to £32,000
