Cura Accounting is a rapidly growing accountancy practice based in Holcombe Brook, Bury. We provide outsourced bookkeeping and management accounting services to businesses across the Northwest, and as we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team.

This is a varied role where no two days are necessarily the same. You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, build relationships with them and become a trusted part of their finance function. You’ll have the independence to manage your workload, but you’ll also have a supportive team around you whenever you need it.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for the day to day bookkeeping and financial administration for a portfolio of clients, including:

  • Purchase and sales ledger
  • Raising and processing invoices
  • Processing sales and purchase orders
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Working towards HMRC deadlines
  • Working across multiple currencies, bank accounts and departments
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and files
  • Producing accounts to trial balance stage where required
  • CIS work, where applicable
  • General bookkeeping and finance duties

You’ll work across systems including Sage and Xero, with experience of both being advantageous.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is confident in their bookkeeping ability and enjoys working with a variety of clients.

You’ll ideally have:

  • AAT qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping role
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The confidence to work independently and at client sites
  • A good eye for detail and pride in producing accurate work
  • The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is friendly, professional, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.

You’ll have the flexibility to work between our offices, from home and at client sites, depending on the needs of the role.

We’ll provide everything you need to do your job, including your own laptop and equipment, and you’ll receive a full handover and client specific training when you join.
