Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Edinburgh based organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business operating across multiple entities. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function and ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions.

Role Overview:

Working within a busy and collaborative finance team, you will support a broad range of accounting and bookkeeping activities, including reconciliations, payment processing, month-end support and credit control. This role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys a varied workload and can confidently manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate purchase ledger records.
  • Assist with month-end accounting activities.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Allocate receipts and prepare supplier payment runs.
  • Process intercompany transactions and recharges.
  • Support payroll administration and associated finance tasks.
  • Proactively manage outstanding debtors and assist with collections.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team.

Candidate Profile:

We are keen to speak with candidates who have strong bookkeeping and transactional finance experience and who are looking to join a supportive and fast-paced business environment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeping role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and controls.
  • Previous experience using Sage 200.
  • Payroll experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Confident communication skills and a proactive approach.
