Company Description

Catering Projects Shop supplies light equipment for both front and back of house operations in restaurants, quick service restaurants, hotels, bars, and coffee shops. Team members work closely with hospitality clients to understand their operational needs and provide practical equipment solutions. Role Description

The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day financial records, including processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank accounts. Responsibilities include:

The role also involves using accounting software to ensure accurate data entry, maintaining compliance with internal controls, and supporting management with financial information for decision-making. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Brighton and Hove Area, working closely with operations and management to keep financial processes organized and transparent.

Qualifications

  • Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate record-keeping, ledger maintenance, and journal entries (accounting).
  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and support general finance activities.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and related digital tools used in small business or retail environments.
  • Attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with operations, sales, and management teams.
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance; experience in retail, catering, or hospitality is an advantage.
  • Relevant certification or qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance is preferred but not mandatory.
