This is a Bookkeeping role with a difference - a rare opportunity to join one of Cheshire's most distinctive and successful businesses.
It's a great opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper who wants variety, responsibility and the chance to make a real difference, rather than simply processing invoices all day. You'll work with Xero and modern finance technology, have responsibility across the full bookkeeping cycle and gain exposure to areas including cash flow, VAT, reconciliations and the company's CID/invoice finance facility.
Based in Malpas, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily bank postings and reconciliations using Xero
- Owning the Purchase Ledger, from invoice processing through to payment runs
- Managing credit card postings and reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns
- Producing sales invoice reporting to support the CID/invoice finance facility
- Maintaining accurate financial records and resolving discrepancies
- Working with the wider Finance Team to improve processes, controls and efficiencies
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will be an experienced Bookkeeper who is hands-on, commercially minded and enjoys taking ownership. You'll ideally have:
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Strong Xero experience
- Good knowledge of bank reconciliations, Purchase Ledger and VAT
- Strong Excel skills
- Confidence using technology to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Experience of CID / invoice finance would be a real advantage, but isn't essential. AAT is desirable, but relevant experience is more important than formal qualifications.
