Pure Business Law is a modern law firm with offices in Bedford and London, serving small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals locally and across the UK. The firm specializes in Construction law, Corporate and Commercial law, Commercial Property, Employment, Disputes and Litigation, providing customer-centric and cost-effective legal solutions.
Role Description
The Bookkeeper role is a three-month full-time, on-site role (£16-£20 per hour dependent on experience) based in our Bedford office.
This position is responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including:
- Recording financial transactions
- Maintaining accurate ledgers
- Supporting the preparation of basic financial reports

The role includes:

- Processing invoices and receipts
- Reconciling accounts
- Assisting with journal entries in line with firm procedures
The successful candidate will work closely with legal and business staff to ensure financial and administrative data is accurate, up to date, and compliant with internal standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Bookkeeping and preparation of Financial Statements.
- Experience working with Accounting Software and handling Journal Entries (Accounting).
- Understanding of Finance principles relevant to a professional services or legal environment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to maintain organized records.
- Proficient in office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office) and basic Excel skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a busy office.
- Prior experience in a bookkeeping role; experience in a law firm or SME environment is an advantage.
- Relevant vocational qualification or coursework in bookkeeping, accounting, or relevant business accounting administration is preferred.
