Norwich Accountancy Services Ltd - Bookkeeper / Accounts Semi-Senior
Norwich Accountancy Services Ltd is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Semi-Senior to join our Norwich city centre team.
This is a varied role for someone who is confident managing bookkeeping and VAT work independently, while also having practical experience preparing year-end accounts.
You will take responsibility for your own workload, work directly with clients, and review bookkeeping and VAT work completed by junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT work completed by junior team members
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and year-end adjustments
- Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies
- Liaising directly with clients
- Working with cloud accounting software, particularly Xero
- Supporting and guiding junior team members where required

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong bookkeeping and VAT experience
- Can work independently and take ownership of their work
- Has practical experience preparing year-end accounts
- Is confident reviewing junior work
- Has good knowledge of reconciliations and year-end adjustments
- Is comfortable dealing directly with clients
- Is AAT Level 4 qualified, studying towards Level 4, or has completed Level 3 with strong relevant experience

Experience with Xero is important. Experience using IRIS Elements would be beneficial but is not essential.
