About Us
Some businesses grow faster than their financial admin keeps up. Pickle works with a broad spectrum of clients; founders, operators and business owners who need clean books, reliable numbers and someone who simply gets it done.
These are fractional engagements. Not permanent positions. Not traditional employment. If you are looking for a staff role, this is not it. If you thrive working across multiple clients, managing your own time and delivering consistent, accurate work without constant oversight, read on.
Our clients are fast-moving businesses that need bookkeeping support they can trust. Reconciliations, expense management, management accounts preparation, VAT returns etc. - handled with the quiet certainty that the financials are always in hand.
We are looking for experienced bookkeepers with demonstrable experience working within UK bookkeeping and accounting standards, including familiarity with HMRC requirements, Making Tax Digital and UK VAT regulations.
Fractional work is a professional model in its own right. The people who do it well understand that availability, reliability and quality are what build a sustainable client base. If that is already how you work, we would like to hear from you.
We are actively building our network and prioritising candidates who are immediately available. If you have a notice period to serve before you can commit, this is not the right moment.
Not the main ingredient. But the one that brings balance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
