Volunteer Bookkeeper | Long Ashton Scouts

Could you spare a few hours a month to help support the future of Scouting in Long Ashton?
Long Ashton Scouts are looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper to join our team and support the financial administration of the Group at a particularly exciting time in our history.
Alongside running our Beaver, Cub and Scout sections, we are embarking on one of the biggest projects the Group has ever undertaken: building a brand-new Scout Headquarters at Wild Country Lane.
With construction getting underway and a new premises on the horizon, our financial activity is increasing considerably. We are therefore looking for someone with bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration experience who could spare a few hours each month to work alongside our Treasurer and help us keep everything running smoothly.

What would you be doing?
You would help with:
- Maintaining accurate income and expenditure records
- Bank reconciliations and routine bookkeeping
- Organising invoices, receipts and financial documentation
- Supporting monthly financial reporting and budget monitoring
- Helping track expenditure and committed costs for our new HQ project
- Supporting preparation of our annual accounts and independent examination
- Helping us maintain strong, straightforward financial processes and controls
Who are we looking for?
You don't need to be a qualified accountant.
You might be a bookkeeper, accountant, finance professional or experienced accounts administrator. You might be working full-time, part-time or retired and looking for an opportunity to put your skills to good use within the local community.
We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised, comfortable with numbers and able to give approximately 2-4 hours per month.
