The Bookkeeper role is a three-month full-time, on-site role based in our Bedford office. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and supporting the preparation of basic financial reports. The role includes processing invoices and receipts, reconciling accounts, and assisting with journal entries in line with firm procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with legal and business staff to ensure financial and administrative data is accurate, up to date, and compliant with internal standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Bookkeeping and preparation of Financial Statements.
  • Experience working with Accounting Software and handling Journal Entries (Accounting).
  • Understanding of Finance principles relevant to a professional services or legal environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to maintain organized records.
  • Proficient in office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar) and basic Excel skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a busy office.
  • Prior experience in a bookkeeping role; experience in a law firm or SME environment is an advantage.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or coursework in bookkeeping, accounting, or relevant business accounting administration is preferred.
