That’s the kind of Bookkeeper we're looking for here.
We’re working exclusively with an established and growing independent accountancy practice in Central London, and they’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team.
You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, looking after their day-to-day bookkeeping across a really interesting mix of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurial clients. You’ll work closely with the wider accounts and tax teams, while having direct access to the Partners and plenty of autonomy.
It’s a supportive, collaborative team where people know each other, work closely together and value the contribution everyone makes.

What you'll be doing
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Processing sales and purchase invoices and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Posting and processing financial transactions
- Carrying out regular bank and control account reconciliations
- Maintaining client ledgers and investigating discrepancies
- Preparing bookkeeping information through to trial balance
- Managing your own workload across multiple clients and ensuring deadlines are met and queries are resolved
- Working closely with the Partners, wider accounts and tax teams
About you
- Relevant bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero (ideally), QuickBooks or Sage
- Excellent communication and client facing skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- AAT or another relevant bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
- The role would suit someone who enjoys bookkeeping and wants to remain focused on this area long term.
- Reliable, detail-focused and takes pride in their work, with the ability to work independently and take ownership
