I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This isn’t a traditional full-time finance role.
We’re looking for someone commercially minded, hands-on and confident who can come into the business, take ownership of the day-to-day numbers and become a trusted part of the team.
- £225 per day
- 6 days per month initially
- Bromley – office based
- Potential to increase the days as we grow
You’ll be involved in bookkeeping, reconciliations, ledgers, VAT, management accounts and month-end reporting – but we’re also looking for someone who can look beyond the numbers.
We want someone who spots things, asks questions, suggests better ways of doing things and helps us continue improving our finance processes as the business develops.
You might be an experienced bookkeeper, a part-qualified accountant, or someone who has built up strong practical finance experience and now wants a role where you can have a genuine impact.

The important things are that you’re commercial, accurate, organised and comfortable taking ownership.
For the right person, there’s real scope for this role to develop. As the business grows, we expect the finance requirement to grow with it.
So, if you like the idea of joining a growing business, working directly with the people running it and helping shape the finance function rather than simply inheriting one, we’d like to hear from you.
