Part-Time Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant
Location: London
Salary: £50,000 (Full Time Equivalent) to be pro-rated for 2–3 days per week
Our client is a privately owned family office with a portfolio of hotel and hospitality businesses. They are looking to appoint an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function across the group.
This is a hands-on role covering bookkeeping, payroll, invoice processing and month-end support, working closely with the wider business and external advisers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase and sales invoices across the group.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and ensure transactions are correctly recorded.
- Manage supplier payments, reconciliations and general accounts payable duties.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end processes, including preparation of monthly P&L information.
- Maintain the accounting records on Xero.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including starters, leavers, deductions and payroll adjustments.
- Manage payroll-related administration, including pension contributions and statutory payments.
- Assist with VAT and other routine finance and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with hotel and hospitality operations teams regarding invoices, expenses and financial information.
- Support the family office with ad hoc finance and bookkeeping requirements.

Candidate Requirements
- Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally within a multi-entity environment.
- Previous payroll experience is essential.
- Confident using Xero.
- Experience with invoice processing, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
- Comfortable preparing or assisting with monthly P&L information.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience within hotels, hospitality, family offices or owner-managed businesses would be advantageous.
- Comfortable working independently in a hands-on finance role.
